Solid surface is the next most expensive material we work in. It also offers a variety of edge profiles. Solid surface is also non-porous, being approved by various health organizations as a food-preparation surface because of its resistance to bacterial growth.
One unique feature is the ability to integrate a sink into the counter, making for a seamless joint between the sink and counter. Solid surface has imperceptible seams when done, unlike any other counter material available. It has the same no-heat restrictions as laminate, but is repairable. Scratches can be sanded out and more serious damage can be repaired.
